It has been a long time I wrote. I have no logical reason to explain why. But I have promised myself to churn out one post a week atleast from now on.
I have been completely mesmerised and addicted to the concept of Martian Tripods. I have kind of fallen in love with their engineering. I was introduced to it by Steven Speilberg in The War of the Worlds (which I mainly watched for Tom Cruise) and then traced it back to find out that the concept was created by HG Wells in 1897! Can you believe that? He wrote the first science fiction about an alien attack on the world. It is from him that the Martians got their existance and the movie is an adaptation of it. In the 21st century we obviously wont believe in the existance of Martians since we already know Mars is a barren planet, so Speilberg made his aliens come from a different part of the universe.
The book gives the Martian tripods a Heat Ray which has been modified into a disintigration ray in the movie, but the concept is just brilliant. I love the Tripods and really wish they exist in reality and I get to study them one day.
Aliens! Are you reading?
